The Greater Victoria KidSport™ Board of Directors is made up of a group of committed volunteers, all of who have a passion and belief that sports are beneficial to children for their health and personal development.

Patti Hunter, Co-Chair and General ManagerPatti is one of the three co-founders of KidSport Victoria and the General Manager. She is a former Past President of BC Recreation and Parks Association, past board member of Sport BC and has spent her career in recreation/sport management including 2010 Legacies Now, and YMCA-YWCA’s in Canada. She has a consulting company that facilitates board governance training and strategic planning for a variety of organizations.

Steve Turner, Co-ChairSteve has lived in Victoria since 2003 and is a retired lawyer, he has been active in a variety of sports his entire life including golf, curling ,running and triathlon as well as having coached cross country, track, baseball and basketball. He strongly believes in the value of sport in helping kids to live healthy lives, interact with friends in a positive way and providing a fun way to learn many life lessons.

Archie LouisWith a career in advertising and creative communications Archie has been applying his expertise and experience to assist in marketing for KidSport since 2008. Formerly of Calgary he makes Victoria his home in retirement but does not live in a retirement home. Best parts of Victoria? Very laid back and he doesn’t have to shovel the precipitation.

Nora CummingNora has been a part of the KidSport Victoria board of directors since 2002. She is the mother of two young children and through her kids has witnessed first-hand how sport can positively affect the mental and physical well-being of children. Nora is a firm believer that all children should have the opportunity to participate in sport. When she is not slicing oranges for the next soccer game, or cheering from the side of the pool, Nora works as a business consultant and conference planner for Chemistry Consulting Group. |

Sandy ClarkeSandy has been on the board since 2003. She has been Co-Chairing the annual Kidsport/Promotion Plus golf tournament for many years. Sandy currently works for the City of Victoria as the Manager of Programs and Services and oversees the Crystal Pool and Fitness Centre operation.

Lindy Van AlstineLindy teaches Middle School Science and Physical Education and sees first hand the rewarding experiences for children who have the opportunity to participate in sport. It's heartwarming for her to be involved with the KidSport organization in helping the growth of a child's self-esteem, and development of their life skills through their 'joy of play' in community sports. Lindy enjoys keeping fit & having fun through the YM/YWCA, swimming, walking & a very creative game of golf!

Donna CarlsonBy day, Donna is a career public service employee specializing in human resource management. Away from work she has always been involved in a variety of sports, first as a player, then as a coach, manager and organizer. She believes that participation in sports can help children build self-esteem, confidence and social skills, and also help motivate them to excel academically. She is happy to be a part of an organization that supports this participation.

Chrissy RanisethChrissy currently works at Carmanah Technologies as the Manager of Financial Compliance. Prior to her role at Carmanah, she worked in the audit division at KPMG Victoria for 5 years, where she obtained her Chartered Accountant designation. Outside of work, Chrissy enjoys running and playing fastball. As someone who enjoyed organized sports throughout her childhood and adolescence, she feels strongly that every child should have the same opportunities to be a part of a team and have a sense of belonging.

Matt O'RaeMatthew is currently a Director with the Government of British Columbia specializing in finance. His career has included roles with publicly listed companies in the technology and transportation industries as well as experience in Big-4 accounting firms. Matthew fondly remembers the positive influence organized sport had on him while growing up. Helping children that would otherwise not have the opportunity to play sport and the lasting positive impact this experience will have, is why he wanted to be part of the Kidsport team.

Chuck PusateriChuck was elected to the Board in 2011 following two years of involvement with KidSport initiatives. His 36 year career as an Insurance Advisor allows him to use his marketing and communication skills as well as his many contacts in the Greater Victoria community.
