KidSport™ grants are available for children between the ages of 5 and 18 years who are in financial need to pay registration fees for the sport of their choice.
Sports that are governed by a provincial sports organization qualify including; baseball, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, football, swimming, gymnastics, karate, basketball, figure skating, waterpolo, track & field, triathlon ...click here for a list of all qualifying sports
So that we can we provide for as many children as possible, the maximum grants for all sports is now $250.

Effective
immediately (July 1, 2011) the following changes will be implemented
for KidSport Greater Victoria funding applicants.
Our
core mission is to provide assistance to low
income families. The
KidSport funding application will now use the Canada
Revenue Agency guidelines for low income declaration. Parents will
attest to income information, not the adjudicator.
Our
core mission is to assist with registration fees for a season of
sport at the community sport club level of play. School
sports teams, sport academy registration assistance and school
districts will no longer be eligible for grants.
Our
core mission is to fund children’s registration fees into sport
organizations that are members in good standing
with their provincial sport governing body (Sport BC) and evidence
of that will be requested.
Greater Victoria Savings and Credit Union Legacy Foundation – Creates Legacy for Youth Sport”.
The foundation was established as part of the merger between Greater Victoria Savings and Credit Union and VanCity Credit Union according to Ron Heal, Board member for the Foundation. "We are new foundation in Victoria looking to contribute a portion of our annual funding into organized youth sport programs. Interested sport organizations can contact the foundation for further information on the application and approval process through Ron Heal at ronheal@peninsulaco- op.com."
