How does KidSport™ calculate the number of kids helped?
The main way in which KidSport™ helps children is through grants to pay registration fees. As of the end of 2007 KidSport™ Victoria had provided approx. 1,500 "seasons of sport".

A second way which KidSport™ has been able to touch the lives of kids is through it's Community Projects. As of the end of 2007 it was estimated that these projects impacted on the lives of 28,774 kids annually, based on figures provided by the recipient organizations. The scoreboard is updated periodically as new sports grants are issued.

As great as our success to date has been, the need is greater. It is estimated that over 12,000 children in Greater Victoria live at or below the poverty line (Our Challenge).

Does KidSport™ receive government funding?
KidSport™ does not receive direct funding from government. KidSport™ is supported by the BC Lottery Corporation through its Sports Funder suite of tickets and games. KidSport™ is the property of Sport BC, the provincial federation for sport.
